Spring is right here and that means it's time to get your home in shape for the warmer months. If you're in need of a little spring cleaning inspiration, we've got you covered. We've rounded up some of our favorite tips and tricks for tackling all of those nagging projects that have been hanging over your head. From getting rid of clutter to making your home smell fresh, these are the best ways to make your home feel like new.

Start with the basics
The first step is to get rid of anything that you don’t need or use. This can be as simple as getting rid of old clothes, books, or things that you just don’t like anymore. The next step is to clean your home from top to bottom. Focus on the areas that are usually overlooked, such as the inside of your refrigerator and freezer. Vacuum your carpets and upholstery. Clean your windows and mirrors. Finally, air out your home by opening windows and doors for a few hours each day.

Tackle one room at a time
Tackle one room at a time. Tackle the room that you spend the most time in, such as your bedroom or living room. Clean out closets, drawers, and shelves. Wipe down surfaces with a damp cloth. Vacuum up any dust bunnies. Clear off surfaces and make sure everything has a place to go.

Throw out anything you haven’t used in a year or more
Spring is the perfect time to clean out your home. Start by throwing out anything you haven’t used in a year or more. This includes clothes, furniture, books, and other household items. You should also clean out your fridge and pantry. If you have food that has expired or is close to expiring, throw it out. If you want to donate food, contact your local food bank for information on how to do so.

Get rid of clutter and dust
Spring is a great time for cleaning up clutter. It's time to get rid of items you haven't used in the past year, and make sure your closets are neat and tidy. Spring cleaning is also a great time to give your home a good scrubbing. You can start with the kitchen, which is often the dirtiest part of the house. Next, tackle bathrooms and bedrooms. Finally, take care of outside areas like patios and gardens.

Organize your stuff by type
Start by sorting your stuff into categories—clothes, shoes, books, DVDs, electronics, and so on. Next, go through each category and ask yourself: Do I use this? Do I love this? Do I need this? If the answer is yes to any of these questions, you should keep it. If the answer is no to all three, then it should go in the discard pile.
